Hakka Village Review

If you know Kennedy Road well, you know Hakka Village. For those who don’t, it’s a nice, accessible location right off of Steeles Avenue East in a small strip plaza right next to the 24 hour Laundromat. In my honest opinion, it is one of the most consistent, convenient and economic Hakka Restaurants in Brampton, with sizeable dishes that taste amazing.

Tips: when ordering take out, check your order before leaving in case they mixed things up. Also, the washrooms are dirty.

Chicken? Beef? Shrimp? Paneer? Any of these are served in your choice of Szechuan, Manchurian, Garlic, black bean or Sweet and sour sauce with a serving of rice, almost all of them coming to less than ten dollars. What’s more, the portions are big; you only need to eat two such meals a day. My personal favourite is the Garlic Paneer Dry style that comes with steamed rice. The paneer’s chewy texture combined with the bold flavours from the roasted garlic makes this a nutritious and filling meal on its own.

Garlic Paneer(Dry) with a side of rice comes upto $11.29 after taxes.

The venue is not exactly romantic so you might consider Hakka Village for a third date rather than a first date.

I must mention the flavourful noodles that come in fairly large servings. The crispy noodles, chow meins, chop sueys are available in many styles, and have vegetarian-friendly options as well. A personal favourite is the Vegetable Crispy noodle; the sweet and salty sauce and the noodle with vegetables is something I particularly look forward to when I visit Hakka Village.

From my many visits, I would say the customer service is good, and the servers are very friendly. The space itself has a very relaxed feel to it, whether you’re with your family or friends. It’s a good place to have a solid meal, or to simply be social with a group of friends and get a drink from the bar. One thing I would have to say though: the venue is not exactly romantic so you might consider Hakka Village for a third date rather than a first date.

Overall, Hakka Village is a solid Hakka restaurant that provides good service and excellent food. Its selection of dishes is standard and made with authenticity. The restaurant is accommodating to vegetarian and halal customers, as long as you make your preference clear when ordering. They provide fast service for dining and take out. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a quick place to eat for guaranteed service.

Great review! I’ve been here myself and would say all your points are accurate – tasty meals for a decent price. I would definitely go again if in the area 🙂
