Over the last 18 years, Flips has been serving up breakfast and lunch to Bramptonians with one rule in mind: keep it simple, and boy, they’ve perfected the recipe.
The small diner at Main Street and Bovaird Road doesn’t look like much from the outside. Inside, space is limited with around 20 small tables for seating. During peak hours, it can get pretty crammed, with patrons seated elbow to elbow. At Flips, always expect a full house but don’t shy away. The place has a buzz (and food) that will make your trip well worth it.
The menu is stocked with variations of breakfast classics: eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, pancakes etc. If you’re looking for lunch, have your pick from the typical burgers, sandwiches, chicken fingers and more.
The Country Harvest breakfast is a literal platter of crispy bacon, three juicy pork sausages, two fresh eggs cooked your way, two slices of toast and your choice of a Flip side (my partner opted for a fluffy blueberry pancake the size of his face).
I went a slightly lighter route with the Sausage and Eggs breakfast special (minus the bacon from above) and a slice of strawberry french toast as my side. Both meals were absolutely delicious, leaving us completely stuffed. The coffee was classic, nothing fancy.
The staff were friendly and quick on their feet, considering how busy the restaurant is.
At under $8 a plate, the sheer mass of expertly-crafted, mouth-watering food is well worth it. Make sure you visit this classic Brampton locale at least once.
