The countdown is on for 12 of Brampton’s young singers, dancers, and musicians, to perform live at this year’s Centre Stage Concert on Apr. 12. About 100 youth auditioned back in November for a chance to perform on the Rose Theatre main stage.
“They really get to experience what it’s like to be a professional and perform in front of an audience,” says Kristine Pettipas, Rose Theatre Education Programmer. Finalists get first hand experience on everything from soundcheck to lighting to crafting a performance. In order to be eligible, the finalists must attend a Brampton elementary, middle or high school (including Mayfield Secondary School).
“It’s a great way for the community to see how much talent we really have in Brampton,” says Pettipas. This year, the performers range from 10 to 16 years old.
Tickets for the Centre Stage Concert and Gala are $10.
